A personal brand of alternative pop seated in an emotional trip-hop setting, with a stunning voice and thought provoking lyrics. Jay Jacobson is a Los Angeles based singer-songwriter. His music has been played on radio and podcasts around the world, and he was recently named “The One to Watch” on the “Off the Charts” UK radio show. His second CD, “Ready”, includes the Top Ten internationally charting single, “Boy”. In 2010 he released his first music video for the song, “Love is Love”, (from his third CD “Revelations”) which created a buzz (including stories in USA Today Online, On Top Magazine, and Towleroad), and it has since won multiple awards in film festivals. He sang back-ups for Liza Minnelli on “The Tonight Show”, and at Universal Amphitheater as part of the Ewing Concert Chorale. “Peace At Last”, his fourth full-length CD release, finds Jay Jacobson building warm pop grooves, expressive classical elements, and gorgeous harmonies, on top his personal brand of emotional trip-hop. From the defiant opening track, “Still Standing”, the gut wrenching heartbreak of “And Now”, and the inspiring chorus of the title track, “Peace At Last”, this CD’s eleven songs weave a stunning trail through the ups and downs of human existence. Jay’s soaring falsetto glides over melodious electronica, telling us how we are “So Small” in a world so large. The dance beats of “Overtaken” reminds us our “minds have taken over/taken over our lives”. The 11 tracks masterfully look at the human experience, poetically summed up in the chorus of “This is Life”: “there’s the good and the bad/and the happy and sad/it all comes with the price of a life”.
