Don’t Make Plays on My Heart - State Lights

We say

Grabbing your attention straight from the start is this heartfelt, indie pop gem from rising Irish four-piece State Lights. Formed three years ago at BIMM College in Dublin, the lads have, over the last twelve months, been building their presence with a string of releases and tastemaker support from the likes of Hot Press, RTE 2FM (Track of the Week), Radio X, KROQ and a performance on The Late Late Show. On Friday (8 May) they dropped their latest single, Don’t Make Plays on My Heart, a gloriously anthemic track, complete with addictive guitar hooks and vocals. It’s picked up some early online presence from numerous blogs including Indietronica and will be receiving its first radio airplay in Ireland this week on RTE 2FM. Later this year (15 October), the band will be playing their rescheduled headline show at the Button Factory in Dublin, following sold-out shows at Whelan’s and London’s Islington. State Lights bewitching sound is assured and infectious. One to watch.
