The Vibrations concert is part of the Music In Africa Instrument Building and Repair project, which aims to encourage the formalisation and professionalisation of instrument-making and repair in Africa, especially in relation to traditional African instruments. The project has enabled the Foundation to train young people to make instruments, while providing online tutorials to a wider audience across the continent. The programme also includes performances and public dialogues around African instruments. It is funded by the National Lotteries Commission (NLC) and implemented in partnership with Siemens Stiftung, Goethe-Institut and Kaya FM. |
