Born in Detroit, Michigan (1989) During his teenage years Kobie attended eight high schools as a result of poverty. As a child he declared that he would be a star someday.
Growing up he endured a life of homelessness, discrimination, and a witness to gang violence to struggling and eventually making six figures and excelling past his peers in the statistics of the projects.
After graduating High school he joined the Armed Forces to promote the land of freedom ideal. He finds motivation to deliver the message that all individuals have the power to create their own realities and live their dream.
His songs are inspired by creativity and the ideology “follow your heart to fulfill your purpose!” Pushing the limits of Hip-Hop through his New Production Kobie Maverick aka “K-Mav” fell in love with Theater Arts, Music, and basketball in high school playing ; Trombone, Baritone, and Trumpet as well as participating in Theater Arts programs.
He was inspired as a child to be a great performer by his close cousin Keith Washington a singer who worked with the revolutionary Quincy Jones. He masters in producing music that extends the levels of hip-hop with variations of Alternative and Rock instruments combined with heavy bass. His first song released “Back in the Game” featured on his first Album Who Is Maverick? Focused on the premise of diving into what your dreams are, and playing before the games over.
